James David joined Company A after his brother, John Hyatt was killed at Gettysburg in July of 1863. His father, David gave hime a horse so he could be in the cavalry instead of the infantry and maybe have a better chance of surviving, which he did. His father was David Hyatt and his mother eas Louisa Hargrave Hyatt.

John was 29 when he joined Capt L.A. Johnson's Company of Cavalry at Wadesboro, NC on 10 May 1862. His horse is valued at $150 and equipment at $25. It is 160 miles to his rendezvous. His horse was killed at Manassas on 1 Sep 1863 and he was paid for his loss. The receipt is in his archival file. He survived the invasion and died 17 Dec 1897 in Darlington Co. SC. We are related by marriage.

Adam is brother to William A. Kirk and Parham Kirk of the 28th Infantry Reg. Co. K., and George Edward Kirk of the 52nd Infantry Reg. Company I., and later became brother-in-law to Simpson J. Nash of the 28th reg. Co. K.

John was from Beverley, Anson Co. NC. He was 19 years old when he enlisted at Wadesboro, North Carolina for 3 years in Co A. 4th Regiment NC Cavalry [ 59th Regiment North Carolina Troops] He saw action in numerous battles and had his horse killed from under him at Jack's Shop's on 22 Sep. 1863. He was paid $450 for the horse. He died 5 Oct 1904 and is buried in Eastside Cem. Rockingham, Richmond Co. NC. He is the father in law of my 4th cousin 3 x removed..

George was born 29 Jan 1823 in Stanly County, NC. He has 6 cards in his archival file. The 1860 census finds him at age 37 in Stanly County. The Post Office is at Albemarle. He enlisted initially for 6 months in McRae's Cavalry Battalion which had 150 men on its roll and was formed to hunt deserters. He enlisted in the 4th in Stanly County by Lt. Little on 24 Aug 1863 and paroled 19 May 1865 in Albemarle, NC 19 May 1865.

Battles: Kinston - Goldburg, Culpepper Court House, Brandy Station, Aldie, Upperville, Gettysburg, Fairfield, Hagerstown, Jack's Shop [under command of J.E. B. Stuart] Wilson's Farm, White Oak and Five Forks on 1 April 1865.

He was the maternal grandfather of my 5th cousin 2 x removed. He is buried at Pine Grove Methodist Church at Albemarle, Stanly Co NC. May the Lord rest his soul.

Lot was 34 years old when he enlisted 1 May 1863 at Wadesboro, Anson County, NC for the war. Co A 4th NC Cavalry [ 59th State Troops]. He was seriously wounded 8 June 1863 at Madison's Cross Roads, Va. and sent to Lynchburg Hosp. He never recovered. Sent on wounded furlough on 20 Oct 1863 for 60 days. The last CMR Aug 1864 finds him still recovering at home on wounded furlough. We are related by marriage.

Stephen was born in Black Jack Township, Richmond Co. NC Jan 1846. He is shown as age 14 in the 1860 census. His obit states that he was a Confederate Veteran and served in Co A 4th North Carolina Cavalry. He had several family members in that unit. I have not been able to find his archival record. He married twice 1st Sarah Ann Dockery born 1856 d. 1909. He married 2nd in 1912 a Mary Bostic. Stephen died 29 Oct 1925 and is buried with his first wife at Eastside Cem. Rockingham, Richmond Co. NC

John was born 2 Feb 1834 in Mecklenburg Co. NC he enlisted 13 Aug 1862 at Charlotte in aforesaid county in Capt John Y Bryce's Co of Partisan Rangers. Enlisting for 3 years or the war. His horse is valued at $175. He has 18 cards in his archival file. June 1863 he is on detached duty. 8 July his horse dies and he is sent on furlough to find a horse. 15 Nov 1864 he is sick in hospital at Danville, Va with Febris Remitteus and on 26 he is transferred to hosp in Raleigh, NC. This unit was also know as the 59th NC State Troops. Saw action at Brandy Station [Largest Cavlary battle of the war] , Hagerstown, Five Forks, Culpepper Court House, Gettysburg, Jacks Shops, Wilson's Farm and White Oak Road. On 11 Dec 1862 he married Sarah Ann Wilson. He died in 1916 in Wolfsville, Sandy Ridge Twp. Union Co. NC. and buried there in Pleasant Grove Cem UMC Cem. In Union Co. NC

d. 22 May 1904 Cabarrus County, NC. Buried at St.John's Lutheran Church, Concord, NC. Enlisted Co E, 4th NC Calvary on 15 Apr 1863. My 2nd cousin 3rd removed and the first cousin to Pvt. Caleb Alexander Fisher also of Co E, 4th Reg. NC Cavalry.

Daniel was also a veteran of the Mexican War having served in Co C, 1st Regiment of Foot Soldiers. Co C was formed in Concord, Cabarrus County, NC.

Flowers, Green enlisted in Mecklenburg County, NC at the age of 39 on May 10, 1862 for the war. Captured at Monterey Springs, PA on July 5, 1863. Confined at Fort Delaware until paroled and exchanged at City Point, VA on April 30, 1864. He was admitted to a hospital at Richmond, VA on May 1, 1864 with rheumatismos chronic and furloughed for 60 days on May 6, 1864. No further records. He died on October 24, 1895 and is buried in the Flowers Cemetery in gaston County, NC.
